What is Kickstart?

The Kickstart Scheme helps employers, by providing funding for them to create job placements for 16 to 24-year-olds. This Government will pay 100% of the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours for a total of 6 months. Associated employer NI contributions.  In addition, you will also get a grant of £1500 to help towards setting up costs and additional training.

Benefits for placement holder

• The Placement holder will obtain 6 months of valuable experience - which in this chicken and egg scenario if you don't have the experience you don't get a job but you need the experience to get a job!

• The Placement holder will get a structured training plan to ensure that they work-ready after the 6 months.

Benefits for the Employer

• You get a fully funded employee for 6 months up to 25 hours per week. (you can opt to top up the pay and hours at your cost)

• This may enable you to see if you have enough work for an additional employee - or might just help you not have to do everything yourself.

• You may find a great employee whom you could transfer onto an apprenticeship or take or permanently after the initial 6 months.
