Using a combination of MHFA Instructor-led LIVE Sessions,
Self Learning activities and Presentations, you will:

  • Develop Practical Skills to Spot Triggers & Signs
    of Mental Health Issues
  • Gain the Confidence to reassure and support a
    person in distress
  • Learn how to provide Further Support for the
    Mental Health Recovery Process

If you were asked for Mental Health Support,
Would you know where to begin?

Meaning most people don't know how to support friends, family or even colleagues.
This is exactly why this course aims to:

  1. You’ll learn to recognise warning signs of mental ill-health and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe.
  2. Listen and effectively understand what a distressed individual is trying to tell you, reassure them accordingly and respond appropriately and empathetically.
  3. You’ll also learn how to empower someone to access the support they might need for recovery or successful management of symptoms. This could include self-help books or websites, accessing therapy services through their GP, their school or place of work, online self-referral, support groups, and more.

Why have we made this course?

Because even though we are now quickly becoming aware of mental health, nobody knows how to address it!
If you saw someone have a heart attack, you'd start CPR and call 999. But do you know what to do if you witnessed a panic attack? Would you know who to call?

Mental Health First Aid training seeks to eradicate that hesitation. Understanding how to open the dialogue for mental health and substance abuse by improving your knowledge and skillset, creating an action plan and being able to identify and address potential Mental Health Disorders could save a life at work.
